Reem Abdellatif is an Egyptian-American editor and journalist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her interests include business news, human rights, and women’s issues. Abdellatif is fluent in Arabic, and understands Levantine and Khaleeji dialects.Mrs. Abdellatif is currently the editor-in-chief of Argaam Plus, a Dubai-based online news service that she helped launch in 2015 to provide in-depth business coverage on Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf countries. She was previously a correspondent for The Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal in Cairo, where she covered business news, socio-economic issues, and gender-based violence after the 2011 uprising.
Reem Abdellatif holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with a minor in International Relations. She began pursuing her degree in 2005 at the University of South Carolina, but later transferred to the American University in Cairo to study in one of the most strategically located countries in the Middle East. Her work has been published with the Associated Press, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Atlantic Council, GlobalPost, Daily News Egypt, Egypt Independent, BBC ‘Focus on Africa’ Magazine, Dow Jones Newswires, and Salon.
